In my analysis in my essay from assignment one I discussed a lot around the seating in the public bar, or the lack of seating, therefore I wanted to focus on that there is enough chairs and benches so people could sit down and relax not just order and sit somewhere else.
What I have done in my remodelling is to remove the benches and put in a lounge area and a bar area. I have also put in some round tables, because round is much more social and space saving. The bar was excessively big for such a small space so I made it a bit smaller so that I could focus on getting in more seating.
In the old bar, the only light that made a mood was the light they got from the outside, and it is hard to control the lights that is natural, that is why I have put in some decorative lightning so it will be mush easier to create the perfect mood for the perfect occasion. I wanted to keep something from the old bar so the windows by the door will be a part of my new design as well. I have chosen to keep the windows because they give the room a special detail that I think is perfect for this space.
I thought about putting in a sliding door so it would be easy to close one part of the bar if it is a slow night, but because of the layout of the room, I cannot do it without losing important areas like the bathroom or the bar.
The last thing that was important when I was redoing the Lennons Broadbeach hotel bar was that the furniture were sustainable but also easy to move around so it would be easy to change the look of the bar or add more furniture if it is needed for special occasions.
